Eagles Win Second Straight Against Union
Lincoln, NE -- Faith Men's Basketball completed the season sweep against Union, their first time winning twice in a season against the Warriors since 2019-20.
The Eagles had a hot shooting night, scoring at a clip of 50% from the field and 51% from deep while tallying 90+ points for the eleventh time this season.
Faith once again took several minutes to settle into their offense, trailing by 7 early, but back-to-back baskets from Connor Parrish and Cade Cooper tied the game with 14 minutes to go in the first half, and a made three from Sam Kirkman gave the Eagles their first lead of the day less than 30 seconds later. Faith started to pull away at the ten minute mark, draining four straight 3 pointers, and eventually taking a ten point lead as they headed into halftime up 50-40.
The Eagles kept rolling with two free throws and a layup in the first minute to build their lead to 14 early in the second half. The Warriors refused to go down without a fight, bringing the game within 6 points at the 13 minute mark, but that would be as close as they would get as Faith took the eventual 99-85 victory in the road matchup.
Five players scored double-digits for the Eagles as Landon Brahs (28 pts) and Jackson Lockard (20 pts) combined for nearly half of the team's points. Logan Fincham (15 pts), Asa LaFleur (10 pts), and Connor Parrish (10 pts) rounded out the main scoring for the Eagles, and Sam Kirkman added 9 points off the bench, shooting 3-6 from deep. Quensy Ferguson dished out 7 assists, and Lockard added 5 assists and 3 steals in the Win.
