Eagles Bring Chaplain's Cup Home
Dubuque, IA -- It took Faith 90 seconds to settle in on Tuesday as they competed in the fourth annual Battle for Iowa that saw Faith bring the 97-69 win, and the Chaplain's Cup back to Ankeny.

Mason Gorsh paced the Eagles with 32 points on 63% shooting from the field. Three other Eagles scored double-digits in the win as Jackson Lockard scored 16 points, Logan Fincham added 12 points and 3 steals, and Cade Cooper did a little bit of everything with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Quensy Ferguson dished out 11 of the team's 23 assists on the night.
The host Eagles from Emmaus jumped to a quick lead, scoring in their first two possessions for a 6-2 lead causing Faith to call an early timeout. From that moment, the Faith Eagles went on a 15-0 run over the next seven minutes, giving them the 17-6 lead and solid control of the game. Gorsh and Lockard kept the Eagles moving as they combined for 27 first half points. Faith pieced together several crucial stops on the defensive end down the stretch and headed into halftime with an 11 point lead, up 47-36.
Faith scored 50 points in the second half to their opponent's 33, leading by as many as 30 on their way to the solid Conference win. 14 players saw the court for the Eagles, with ten of them scoring two or more points. With the win, the Eagles move to 12-6 on the season, and 4-2 in MCCC play as they reach the halfway point of the Conference season.
