Men's Basketball Wins Big in Season Opener
Ankeny, IA -- Faith men's basketball hosted Moody Bible Institute in their first regular season game, coming away with the 112-78 victory over the Archers.
The Eagles kicked off their regular season against Moody on Saturday in a game that allowed all available players to see the court and score.
The first five minutes saw both teams battling for an advantage, with Moody holding a slight lead throughout. Faith tied the game at 12 points apiece on a made 3 pointer from Landon Brahs, and from there the Eagles took the lead and never gave it up as they scored 61 first half points. Faith entered halftime up 61-42, ready to make adjustments and close out the game.
The Archers started the second half on a 7-2 run, bringing the game within 14 points early. Faith however, managed to find their footing quickly and put together a solid second half on their way to the victory.
Four Eagles scored double digits, led by Landon Brahs (26 pts) and Mason Gorsh (22 pts). Sam Kirkman added 17 points on five made 3 pointers, and Quensy Ferguson recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists, adding 5 steals to his totals. As a team the Eagles assisted on 29 made shots and stole the ball 24 times while scoring their most points in a game since Nov. 5th, 2019.
UP NEXT: Faith men's basketball will play an exhibition game at Graceland on Monday before traveling to Spurgeon on Tuesday, November 4th for an NCCAA matchup. Tipoff at the Mathena Center is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
