Eagles Extend Streak to Four Following Tuesday's Win
Plymouth, MN -- Faith men's basketball started slow in Tuesday's win, but outscored their opponent by 28 points in the second half to win their fourth straight game.
The Eagles came out to a much slower start than usual in Tuesday's game, as the teams battled through 3 ties and 3 lead changes in the first eleven minutes of the game. Tied at 20-20 with nine minutes to go, Jackson Lockard found Landon Brahs open in the corner for a three that gave Faith a lead they would not give up for the rest of the game. Over the next nine minutes the Eagles went on a 23-11 run, ending the half with a steal and a slam from Brahs to send Faith into halftime up 43-31.
For the second game in a row, Faith scored over 50 points in a half, scoring three possessions in a row to start the second half. The Eagles locked in defensively over the next 20 minutes, allowing the fewest points in a half (23) and the fewest points in a game (54) from their opponents this season. Sam Kirkman scored 15 of his 17 points off of five made threes, and the Eagles recorded all five of their blocked shots in the second half.
Mason Gorsh led all scoring with 23 points, while Landon Brahs and Sam Kirkman added 17 points each for the Eagles. Brahs came close to a triple-double, adding 9 steals and 8 rebounds. Asa LaFleur led the defensive efforts for Faith as they forced 25 turnovers as a team, converting for 39 points off of turnovers. With the win, the Eagles move to 5-2 on the season as they shift their attention to Conference play beginning on Friday.
