The Eagles took time to settle into their first match of the day, dropping their first two sets against Beloit 25-16, 25-16. Once they settled, Faith strung together three solid sets, pulling away to win 25-20, 25-18, 15-10 to complete the reverse sweep and their fourth win of the week. Codie Wirges (16k) and Ellie Cooper (13k) led the attacking for Faith and Qwynn Nerem assisted on 46 of the team's 55 kills. Four Eagles had double-digit digs, led by Victoria Nerem with 16.
Faith finished the day against the Quad hosts, Grinnell College. The Pioneers came out with the three set sweep, with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, 25-18. The Eagles played well, tallying more kills, digs, and an even number of assists as their opponent, but 22 errors were too much for Faith to overcome. The Eagles finished out the week with a 4-1 record, bringing their season record to 18-6 as they enter their final stretch of regular season matches.
UP NEXT: Faith volleyball will finish out the regular season with three weekend matches. The Eagles will travel to Moberly, MO to compete against CCCB on Friday, October 24th with first serve set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
