Conquerors Escape Ankeny Unscathed
Ankeny, IA -- Faith led by as many as 16 points on Tuesday, but could not find answers to their opponent's hot-shooting.
Friday seemed to find answers for the Eagles' offense, as they struggled to find consistent scoring early in the semester. Faith scored 38 points in the first half, twenty of those coming off of 70% shooitng in the second quarter. The Eagles led by 7 after the first ten minutes and doubled their lead going into halftime, but Friday would prove to be a tale of two halves in the tough matchup.
The Conquerors flipped the script in the second half, surging out for 41 points in the final twenty minutes. Faith could not find an answer defensively for their opponent's hot shooting, as FLBC shot 47% from the field and 54% from 3 in the second half. The Eagles trailed by two with 4 minutes to go and although they gave themselves every chance at the comeback, time ran out too early for the home team.
Katie Costello and Soleil Ashley could not be stopped, combining for 38 points against the Conquerors. Costello and Ashley each added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals to round out their totals. Kayla Stephens added 9 points, and Mirelli Fritz and Emily Franklin scored 7 apeice.
