Women's Basketball Overpowers Sabercats
Ankeny, IA -- The Eagles found their footing quickly on Tuesday as they led from start to finish in the 27 point victory over Maranatha.
Faith got back in the win column with a solid home victory over the Sabercats on Tuesday.
The Eagles jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first minute of the game, with quick makes from Katie Costello and Soleil Ashley. From there the Eagles kept rolling, outscoring their opponent 18-7 in the first quarter and extended their lead to 37-17 by halftime. Scoring slowed down for Faith in the second half, but their defense picked up, only allowing 12 total points in the final twenty minutes. At the final buzzer, the Eagles walked away with the 56-29 win in the NCCAA matchup.
Katie Costello led all scoring with 18 points on the day, and Mirelli Fritz and Soleil Ashley added 10 apeice. Fritz pulled down 13 rebounds to mark her third double-double of the year. Morgan Fincham and Emily Franklin combined for four 3's, shooting 57% from behind the arc between the two of them.
