Women's Soccer Closes Season in North Region Championship
Des Moines, IA -- Faith women's soccer gave it their all, but ended their season in the North Region Championship match with the 1-0 loss to Crown.
Following a 5-6-2 regular season record, the Eagles earned the #1 seed and the first round bye at the North Region tournament. The #2 seeded Crown Polars defeated #3 North Central 3-1 in the semifinal round on Tuesday, setting the Region up for an exciting championship match.
The Eagles came into the match missing a couple of starters due to untimely injuries, but that would not slow them down as Faith battled for 90 minutes and came up just short of the championship. Crown scored 8 minutes into the match, as one of their players broke past the defense for a one-on-one and ultimately the only goal of the day for either team. Despite facing 14 shots and 11 corner kicks, the Eagles only allowed 4 shots on goal, sending three of their own as they fought for several near-scoring attempts.
Faith never found themselves out of the match and fought well until the final buzzer, giving them every chance for the equalizer and finishing the season with a match to be proud of. The Eagles finished the season with a 5-7-2 record as the North Region runners-up.
Faith placed five players on the All-North Region team: Emma Boldt (1st team), Hope Ketcham (1st team), Eliana Fritz (1st team), Megan Yuan (honorable mention), and Kayla Stephens (honorable mention). Zack Barron was honored as the 2025 North Region Coach of the Year to finish out the awards for the Eagles.
