Eagles Close Nationals on a High Note
Kissimmee, FL -- Faith men's soccer ended their time at Nationals with a thrilling win over #6 Grace to close out their historic season.

For the first time in three matches, the Eagles did not need a comeback. In order to set themselves up for a shot at the national championship, the Eagles knew they needed to win their match by two goals. They did that and more, scoring early and storming to the 4-1 victory over Grace.
Parker Lundberg scored his first goal of the day on a breakaway opportunity assisted by Zachary Choi. His shot was straight on and slipped through the keepers hands to give the Eagles their first lead just nine minutes in. The Tigers managed to find the net for the equalizer in the 15th minute, and neither team would score again in the first half leading to the 1-1 tie at the break. Similar to their regular season match, the Tigers led most statistical categories, but this time the Eagles would not be stopped in the second half.
Parker Lundberg scored his second goal of the match and the game-winner less than a minute into the second half as he received a pass from Cody Clark outside of the box and launched it over all defenders, including the opposing keeper. The Eagles added two more goals from there, as Austin Lundberg found the net on a shot almost identical to Parker's second. With 12 minutes left, Noah Blomquist finished the scoring on the day with a well placed shot at the very corner of the net and just out of reach of the defense.
The final key to clinch the championship match would come from a loss or tie from Pensacola competing two fields over but unfortunately for the Eagles from Faith, Pensacola was also on a mission and marched into the championship match with a dominant 8-2 over Alice Lloyd. The Eagles finished their time at Nationals without a loss, with the third most points out of all teams (5 points), and all 24 dressed players saw the field in their final match against Grace.
