Kansas City, MO -- Neither team had an issue scoring in Tuesday's match as Faith men's soccer took the 4-2 victory over Spurgeon College.

The Eagles entered the match ranked #9 in the NCCAA, averaging 3.1 goals per match and only allowing 0.7 per match defensively. The Knights came ready to challenge Faith, receiving votes in the most recent coaches poll and averaging just under 4 goals scored and 2 allowed per match. Tuesday promised to be an exciting clash in the cross-region matchup.
The Lundberg duo opened up scoring for the Eagles, as Parker Lundberg scored the opening goal in the 14th minute, and Austin Lundberg added one of his own just seven minutes before halftime. Faith kept the tempo of the match in their favor for much of the first half as they outshot the Knights 4-1 through 45 minutes, leading 2-0 at the break.
The second half brought a flurry of action as the teams combined for 4 goals in the final 25 minutes. Spurgeon placed two perfect attacks to net their goals in the 65th and 70th minutes for their only goals of the match. Ian Naughton scored his first career goal, and the eventual game-winner on a free kick in the 67th minute, and JD Locke finished out the scoring for Faith two minutes later to see the Eagles walk away with the 4-2 victory over (RV) Spurgeon.
