Men's Basketball Team Opens Tough Schedule Tuesday
A new look men's basketball team will hit the court for their first game of the season next Tuesday. Faith will open with an exhibition contest at local NAIA Grand View University. That game is the start of a very challenging first semester schedule, which includes last year's NAIA II national tournament runner up William Penn Unviersity. Ashford University will round out the Eagles NAIA opponents. Completing the Eagles exhibition slate will be a game at NCAA II Truman State University at the end of the first semester.
The Eagles first semester NCCAA schedule includes national tournament qualifiers North Central University, Manhattan Christian College, and Grace University. Manhattan Christian is also the defending Midwest Christian College Conference Regular Season Champion, and Barclay College, who the Eagles will face the day after they play Manhattan was the conference runner up a year ago. Regionally, in addition to defending regional champion North Central University, the Eagles will face regional runner up Trinity Bible College, who is a year removed from their own run to the national tournament.
The Eagles head in to the bulk of their conference schedule during the second semester. Faith will host St. Louis Christian and Central Christian College of the Bible to open the second semseter. The Eagles split with St. Louis during the regular season last year. Central Christian and Faith also split last year. Highlighting the Eagles second semester schedule are MCCC tournament champion and NCCAA Nationl Tournament 3rd place finisher Ozark Christian College. The Eagles will face Ozark and national tournament qualifier Grace University to conclude their regular season of play.
The Eagles first contest is Tuesday, November 5th at 7:30 PM at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA. Faith's first home game is Tuesday, November 12th, at 7 PM versus Union College.
