Jordan Signs for Soccer and Track
Ankeny, IA - Austin Jordan, from Des Moines, IA, has committed to the Eagles Men’s Soccer and Track and Field teams, signing his letter of intent for the 2025-2026 season.
Austin is the son of Joe and Amanda Jordan and comes to the Eagles from coach Dakota Keul's Soccer team and coaches Dave McConnell and Mandy Ives' Track and Field team at Grand View Christian School. Austin was a 4-sport standout for the Thunder, earning recognition at the all district level in three of those sports. Outside of sports, Austin is very involved with his church, family, and school, and has earned multiple awards for his academic accomplishments.
On the track, Austin is a state and district champion in the long jump, and he holds the school record in the event. "I am excited to have Austin join the Faith Track & Field team!" Coach Ryan Long shared, "His outstanding jumping and sprinting ability will bolster our strength in the 4x100 and be a great addition to our talented long jump squad. I am looking forward to seeing what God will do in and through Austin at Faith!"
On the soccer field, Austin is currently leading his team in points and goals scored as the Thunder approach postseason play. "We are really blessed as a program to have an athlete of Austin's caliber join us this fall. He had the opportunity to play several different sports collegiately, but chose to compete at Faith," shared head soccer coach Gary Backous. "I have been able to work with him as a track athlete for the last few years and found that he is one of the most coachable athletes I have ever worked with. On the soccer field, he has the quickness to get behind most defenders at this level, so we will just need to help him learn our system and develop his confidence on the ball. I am very excited to get to coach Austin this season!"
Austin is excited to join the Track and Soccer teams at Faith, and is hopeful to bring positive culture to both teams. He shared, "I am excited to continue my Biblically-based education at Faith and look forward to meeting lifelong friends." Additionally, Austin is excited for the opportunity to stay close to home while his brother Lucas closes out his high school career.
Austin will pursue a degree in Organizational Leadership while at Faith.
