JOPLIN, Missouri—Road trips to Missouri have proven to be a rollercoaster ride for the Faith Eagles men's basketball team this month. Faith's second trip to the Show Me State in two weeks resulted in another split in action as the Eagles defeated Calvary, 77-57, on Friday, but fell to Ozark Christian College, 87-81, on Saturday. The Eagles sit at 6-7 on the season, 3-2 in conference play.
Faith ran into a hot-shooting Ozark team on Saturday as the Ambassadors do what they do best, hitting three-pointers at a high percentage. The Eagles trailed by 17 at the half after surrendering 57 points, but rallied to within one with 12 minutes to play. A runner by Chris Barnette with 3:20 remaining once again cut the Eagles' deficit to one point, but Faith was unable to ever regain the lead in the second half as Ozark closed out the win.
The Eagles have a busy and important stretch of basketball upcoming, with seven of its next eight games at home over the next three weeks. Faith plays three of those at home this week, beginning with a tough matchup against Spurgeon College (7-5) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Knights feature a high-scoring offense, with outbursts of 123 points against Calvary and 130 points against Barclay.
