Lanny Nihart

Bio

Lanny Nihart serves as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Faith Baptist Bible College and is one of the most accomplished and longest-tenured coaches in program history. With more than 40 years of service to Faith Athletics, Nihart has built the volleyball program into a consistent national contender.

Nihart has recorded over 700 career wins and led his teams to 12 NCCAA National Tournament appearances, including three Final Four finishes. His teams have captured multiple conference and regional championships, and he has been recognized as NCCAA National Coach of the Year for his outstanding leadership and success.

In addition to his team success, Nihart has coached 13 All-Americans, highlighting his commitment to individual player development and excellence. He has also played a significant role in national leadership within the NCCAA, serving as both Vice Chair and Chair for volleyball.

Nihart began his tenure at Faith in 1985, coaching both women’s volleyball and basketball for the first 18 years of his career. During that time, he compiled a 216–146 record as the women’s basketball coach before transitioning exclusively to volleyball in 2004. His long-standing commitment to Faith and dedication to student-athlete development have been foundational to the program’s success.
