The Eagle women fell to 6th ranked Manhattan Christian College today 1-3. The loss drops the Eagles overall record to 1-4-0.
Faith cracked the Manhattan defense eleven minutes into the game as Chelsie Shepard took advantage of a misplayed ball by the Manhattan keeper to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. The visiting Crusaders netted a goal 33 minutes into the half to knot the game at 1 apiece, and that's where the game stood at the half. Faith was outshot 16-3 in the second half, as Manhattan's attack was relentless. The Lady Crusaders broke the 1-1 tie twelve minutes into the second half on a penalty kick, then tacked on a third goal four minutes later. Faith struggled to gain possession as Manhattan would go on to win by that final, 3-1. Faith was outshot 26-4 in the game.
Faith returns to action next Thursday, September 20, when they will Buena Vista University. That game will kick off at 2:30 PM.
