The Faith Baptist Bible College (0-1) women's basketball team home hosted Northland International University this past Friday night in their first game of the Faith Classic Tournament. Faith lost a close game to Northland with the score 50 - 58.
Coming out with the same line up as they had in their first game, Faith was able to go back and forth with Northland in the first 10 minutes. The Eagles were able to pull ahead in the last 10 minutes of the first half and took a halftime lead at 27 - 20. Sophomore Kelsey Grider had 13 points going into the half. In the second half, Faith was able to push the lead to 12 points, but Northland started to chip away at the lead. With two minutes left in the game with score 50 - 50, Faith went cold, losing the game 50 - 58.
Kelsey Grider only found the basket one more time ending the game with a team high 15 points. Faith owned the boards 49 to 28, but was unable to finish down the stretch. Jenna Smith led the team with a season high 8 assists and 10 rebounds.
Faith's next game is Saturday, November 10th at 2:00 PM vs. Emmaus Bible College in the Faith Classic Tournament.
