Hemsworth Finishes Strong at NCCAA Championship
Freshman Elizabeth Hemsworth finished her freshman year with record setting performances at the NCCAA National Track and Field Championship. Hemsworth opened the meet with her best event, the 400m dash. Elizabeth ran her best time of the season, setting a new school record with a 59.62 time and finishing second in her heat but just missed qualifying for the finals. Her time gaver her a 9th in the nation finish at her first national championship. Hemsworth closed out her competition at the meet with season and school best times in both the 100m and 200m dash. Her 200m time was good enough for 12th in the nation, while her 100m time gave her an 18th place finish. Hemsworth will look to improve upon those times next year as she leads the Lady Eagle's track team into year two.
